RoSPA and HSE conference looks at workplace transport accidents- 07/02/2008[top]

A conference to be run by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), will discuss ways to bring down the number of workplace transport accidents.

The Managing Workplace Transport Risks Conference, will go under the title 'A Matter of Life or Death'.

Safety issues related to the use of vehicles in places of work will be covered, with current accident and enforcement trends and effective solutions being put forward.

Roger Bibbings, occupational safety adviser at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, commented: "Workplace transport is a key feature of a huge variety of work settings, and can include everything from lorries and cars moving around a site to the use of diggers and fork-lift trucks.

"The need for its effective management, as well as the management of occupational road risk, therefore cuts across industry boundaries."

The event will be held on Wednesday, May 14th in the Concourse Suite at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham.
