BA crash passengers consider legal action- 11/02/2008[top]

Passengers of the British Airways jet that crash-landed at Heathrow Airport are considering taking legal action against the firm.

Personal injury lawyer Sally Moore said she had been approached by more than one individual on the flight for legal advice, reports the BBC.

Ms Moore, who belongs to the law firm Leigh Day & Co, has suggested that those customers who were on board the Boeing 777 could claim up to £85,000 each after being traumatised as a result of the incident.

She told the BBC: "Trauma is another injury. It's compensatable like any other injury, it's just harder to identify.

"We have been asked to advise a couple of people on what their legal remedies might be.

"They are considering their options. We are not acting for them yet."

British Airways has revealed it has offered free fear of flying courses to the passengers who were on the January 17th service from Beijing.
